UNCOVER PLACES — END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT

Effective Date: October 13, 2026

1. Introduction and Agreement Parties

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you and Francisco Sobral, the developer of UNCOVER Places ("UNCOVER", "we", "us"), for the use of the UNCOVER Places mobile application (the "App").

This Agreement is concluded between you and UNCOVER only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). UNCOVER, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply.

2. License and Permitted Use

UNCOVER grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except where permitted by applicable law.

4. Accounts and Security

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the App.

Some features require an account. You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

5. Places, Journeys and Travel Information

The App provides information about places, journeys, and walking routes for travel discovery and planning. Places, opening hours, accessibility, prices, and local conditions may change, and route information may not reflect current conditions.

You are responsible for your own safety and decisions while traveling. Always observe local laws, traffic rules, signage, and private property, and verify important information before relying on it.

6. Location and Personal Data

With your permission, the App uses your device location while in use to show nearby places, calculate walking routes, and confirm journey check-ins. You can manage location access in your device settings.

Personal data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

The App and its content, including text, images, journeys, design, and trademarks, are owned by UNCOVER or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. This Agreement does not transfer any ownership rights to you.

Map data in the App is © OpenStreetMap contributors and is used under its applicable license.

You keep ownership of content you create, such as Moments and reviews. You grant UNCOVER a license to store and display that content as needed to provide the App to you.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the App in violation of any applicable law;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, its systems, or other users' accounts;
  • interfere with or disrupt the operation or security of the App;
  • use automated means to access or copy content from the App;
  • submit content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive, or infringes the rights of others.

9. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, such as payment processing (Stripe), optional sign-in (Google), map tiles (OpenFreeMap), and routing (openrouteservice). Your use of these services may be subject to their terms. You must also comply with applicable third-party terms, such as your wireless data service agreement, when using the App.

10. Availability and Updates

We may update, change, or discontinue features of the App. Some updates may be required to continue using the App. We do not guarantee that the App will always be available or free of errors. Changes affecting content you have purchased will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

11. Warranties and Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available". Nothing in this Agreement limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Apple-Specific Terms

If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:

  1. Acknowledgement. This Agreement is concluded between you and UNCOVER only, and not with Apple. UNCOVER, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. This Agreement may not provide for usage rules that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions in effect on the date you accept it.
  2. Scope of license. The license granted to you is limited to a non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  3. Maintenance and support. UNCOVER is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services for the App, as described in this Agreement or required by applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.
  4. Warranty. UNCOVER is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are UNCOVER's sole responsibility.
  5. Product claims. UNCOVER, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
  6. Intellectual property rights. In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, UNCOVER, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
  7. Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. Developer name and address. Questions, complaints, or claims with respect to the App should be directed to the developer listed in section 16.
  9. Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App.
  10. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement, and upon your acceptance of this Agreement, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this Agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary.

13. Termination

This Agreement is effective until terminated. You may terminate it at any time by deleting the App and ceasing to use it; see Account Deletion for your account. Your rights under this Agreement end automatically if you materially breach it, subject to applicable law. On termination, you must stop using the App.

14. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Portugal, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

15. Changes to this Agreement

We may update this Agreement from time to time. The current version is always available at uncoverplaces.com/eula. Material changes will be communicated where required by law. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Agreement, to the extent permitted by law.
